HOW TO APPLY INSTRUCTIONS

GRILL GRATES (MILD STEEL)

Build seasoning layer, prevent rust & improve non-stick

  1. Ensure grates are clean, dry, and free of rust, grease, or debris. If needed, nylon wire brush and wipe down.
  2. Preheat grates until warm (not glowing hot), then remove from heat source.
  3. Apply a very thin layer of IRONFLAME balm wax using a lint-free cloth or heat-safe applicator.
  4. Spread evenly across all surfaces, including edges and underside if accessible.
  5. Return grates to heat for 10–15 minutes to allow the wax to bond and polymerize.
  6. Let cool naturally, then wipe lightly if any excess residue remains.

For storage: Apply a light protective coat after cooling to prevent rust during downtime.

GRILL GRATES (STAINLESS STEEL)

Reduce sticking, simplify cleanup & light protection layer

  1. Clean grates thoroughly and dry completely.
  2. Warm grates slightly to help spreadability (low heat only, optional).
  3. Apply a very thin layer of balm wax with a cloth—stainless needs less product than other metals.
  4. Buff immediately so only a light, near-invisible film remains.
  5. Optional: heat for 5–10 minutes to help set the layer, then cool.

For cooking prep: Light reapplication before grilling improves food release.

For storage: Apply after cooling to reduce moisture spotting.

CAST IRON COOKWARE

Deep seasoning layer, rust prevention & restoration of surface

  1. Clean cookware completely (remove food, carbon buildup, or rust if present). Dry fully.
  2. Preheat slightly until warm to the touch.
  3. Apply a very thin layer of balm wax using a cloth or paper towel.
  4. Buff thoroughly—cast iron should look almost dry with no visible excess.
  5. Place in oven upside down at 375–425°F for 45–60 minutes (use foil below to catch drips).
  6. Allow to cool inside the oven or at room temperature.
  7. Repeat 1–3 cycles for heavy restoration.

For storage: Always finish with a micro-thin coat after cooling to prevent oxidation.

WOODEN BOARDS & COOKWARE

Hydrate fibers, prevent cracking & food-safe surface protection

  1. Ensure wood is clean and completely dry (no moisture trapped in grain).
  2. Apply balm wax generously using a soft cloth or hands (food-safe contact allowed).
  3. Rub deeply into the grain, working with the wood direction.
  4. Let sit for 15–30 minutes to allow absorption.
  5. Buff off all excess until the surface feels smooth, not greasy or sticky.
  6. Allow to cure for several hours before use.

For maintenance: Reapply every few weeks or when wood looks dry or dull.

For storage: Light coat helps prevent drying or cracking in low-humidity environments.

INGREDIENTS

ABOUT OUR INGREDIENTS

Rich Recipes that work. How and why it works:

Our 100% Pure Beeswax, made by American honeybees locks and binds the grapeseed and canola oils into a smooth, easy-to-apply conditioning paste. The Nutritional Grapeseed and Canola oils provide the high-fat, polyunsaturated fatty acids that the beeswax lacks to build the cooking surface.

The beeswax is a sacrificial carbon booster and a vaporizer as it evaporates leaving the fats in grapeseed and canola oils to breakdown and bake into the hard, non-stick glaze. Any remaining beeswax turns into carbon turning the seasoning into a deep, classic black color.

100% PURE BEESWAX

Our IRONFLAME Grills’ Beeswax is 100% pure, all-natural, edible wax produced by honeybees in the United States, typically harvested from honeycombs as cappings, the wax seal covering honeycomb cells.

Sourced from our dedicated local honey farm, they are cleaner and purer than imports. Mixed with Grapeseed oil and Canola oil it creates an enhanced seasoning bond that is easier to apply and less messy for a superior non-stick cooking surface and thermal stability.

GRAPESEED OIL

The balm’s Grapeseed Oil adds a slick, non-stick surface to prevent rust and sticking. Mixed with Canola Oil it creates a buttery surface, making it easier to apply and maintain.

Grapeseed oil has a neutral flavor and dries quickly to form a harder, more robust layer than most oils, resulting in a dark, superior, non-stick finish.

CANOLA OIL

The balm’s Canola Oil protects the iron from moisture, preventing rust. The neutral-flavored oil builds a thicker, more durable protective layer during heavy seasoning sessions. Unlike drying oils like flaxseed, which can flake off, canola is a semi-drying oil that forms a more stable, less brittle layer.

The natural canola oil (”CANadian Oil, Low Acid”) is generally processed without synthetic chemicals and when mixed with beeswax it acts as a food-safe barrier that prevents oxygen from causing rust during storage.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

SKIN CONDITIONING

The natural beeswax and plant oils found in the formula can help create a protective moisture barrier on dry skin, leaving hands and exposed areas feeling softer and conditioned while helping reduce moisture loss.

LEATHER CONDITIONING

When applied lightly, the beeswax-based formula can help condition leather goods by replenishing surface oils, enhancing appearance, and adding a layer of moisture resistance to frequently handled items.

TOOL & METAL PROTECTION

The natural wax and oil blend can be used as a light protective coating on hand tools, garden equipment, and unfinished metal surfaces to help reduce moisture exposure and surface oxidation during storage.

Why Choose IRONFLAME Grills Seasoning?

Made in the USA with 100% pure American beeswax, our all-natural balm wax helps build a deep black non-stick finish, protects against rust, and seasons grillware without additives.

PERFORMANCE

ALL NATURAL NON-STICK

Built for pitmasters, grillmasters, campers, and cast iron enthusiasts who demand a naturally seasoned cooking surface without synthetic chemicals or messy additives. IRONFLAME Grills Natural Cast Iron & Grill Seasoning is a premium all-natural conditioning balm wax engineered to protect, restore, and build a deep non-stick cooking surface with every application.

PROTECTION

CRAFTED PROTECTION

Crafted factory-direct in the USA using 100% pure American beeswax, grapeseed oil, and canola oil, our proprietary blend creates a smooth, easy-to-apply seasoning paste that bonds directly to iron, steel and wood surfaces during the heating process. Unlike thin liquid oils that drip, smoke excessively, or cure unevenly, our balm wax spreads evenly, buffs cleanly, and forms a durable protective layer that helps prevent rust and moisture while improving long-term cooking performance.

INGREDIENTS

FORMULA, NO ADDITIVES

At the core of the formula is our locally sourced American beeswax — harvested from dedicated honey farms and free from unnecessary fillers, preservatives, or synthetic additives. During the seasoning process, the beeswax acts as a natural binding and carbon-building agent, locking the grapeseed and canola oils into the metal surface before vaporizing away during curing. The remaining oils polymerize into a hard, smooth cooking layer while residual carbon contributes to the rich dark-black finish associated with properly seasoned cast iron.

DURABILITY

THERMAL STABILITY

Grapeseed oil delivers a slick, naturally non-stick cooking surface with a harder, more refined finish than many traditional seasoning oils. Its high polyunsaturated fat content allows it to bake into a durable layer that resists sticking while maintaining a neutral cooking profile. Canola oil complements the formula by creating a thicker, more stable protective coating that resists brittleness and flaking often associated with harsher drying oils. Together, the oils create a buttery-smooth application process with long-lasting thermal stability and moisture resistance.

Whether you are restoring vintage cast iron, seasoning a new grill, maintaining carbon steel cookware, or protecting cooking surfaces between uses, IRONFLAME Grills Seasoning Balm is designed to simplify the process while delivering professional-grade results.
